<description><![CDATA[Chickenshed, N14, Fridays and Saturdays to 25th October. A nationally acclaimed production for children. Tales shows us a world where everybody can come and share together, and not only believe in the magic, but make it happen. Each show is different, but all work creatively to improve literacy, numeracy and communication skills for the under 7s. <br>

<description><![CDATA[Royal Gunpowder Mills, Waltham Abbey, Sunday 21st December.  Special Family Event with Father Christmas.  The Royal Gunpowder Mills has pleasure in inviting you to join them to experience a Victorian Christmas. Each child will be able to take part in art, crafts and games of the period, take a Land Train ride around Queen Meads and visit Santa to receive a gift. Participate in Victorian games, learn about Victorian food and gifts, meet Colonel Brackenbury and his family as they celebrate.

Each full child ticket includes entry into the Award Winning Film and Main Exhibition and also allows free entry to one accompanying adult.

Additional tickets may be purchased separately for adults and children that do not want to take part in the activities. Additional children under 5 are admitted free. Choose a morning or afternoon session.  Sessions last approximately 2 hours and start at 11am and 1pm.<br>

The National's Laurence Olivier Award-winning World War One family drama receives a revival.  At the outbreak of World War One, Joey, young Albert's beloved horse, is sold to the cavalry and shipped to France. He is soon caught up in enemy fire, and fate takes him on an extraordinary odyssey, serving on both sides before finding himself alone in no man's land. But Albert cannot forget Joey and, still not old enough to enlist, he embarks on a treacherous mission to find him and bring him home. <description><![CDATA[Epping Forest, Wednesday 8th October,6pm, age 8+. For as long as humans can remember fungi have been a source of mystery and legend. However, recent studies have revealed even more amazing features, and this course will show you the most common common fungi that can be seen and identified, information on their ecology and their role in conserving the forest. This Family Course runs from 6:00pm-8.30pm. Suitable for children over the age of 8. Adult Fee: £6, Child Fee: £6.  Open to Everyone.<br>
Tricia Moxey has retired from the Epping Forest Department and is now a freelance lecturer teaching people of all ages and ecological surveyor. She is a qualified botanist and enjoys sharing her lifelong interest in flowering plants, fungi and gardening.

<description><![CDATA[London Wetland Centre, Barnes, 18th Sept, starts at 6.40pm, please arrive before this time in order to start on time. Gates will open 15 minutes prior to start time. London Wetland Centre is one of the best bat sites in London. 
There will be a talk by an expert before you head out to the wild reserve, complete with bat detectors, to see which species are swooping around the reserve at night. This is the last such event of the year.<br>
£10 per person (£9 for WWT Members). Booking is essential, please phone 0208 409 4400. Adults and children over 8 years. Children should be accompanied by an adult.
